For those who don’t know Five is the non-cable UK channel that shows Grey’s Anatomy. Their CEO is a Gay right activist. She has a civil partnership and a daughter with her partner. I’ve known her for a few years and have let her know about ‘Brookegate’ Five have not as yet brought the rights to season 4 of Grey’s Anatomy. If she gets her way - they never will. Now that - really will hit ABC where it hurts. She is also going to try and get a statement off of ABC/Shonda but if she does as well as the others ...
Gaydar radio ran a thing early hours of this morning about actors/actress that are discriminated because either they or the character that they play is an out homosexual
UPDATE:
Reply from FIVE
Unfortunately, we only broadcast this programme and do not have any influence on casting decisions made by the producers. Nevertheless, we have noted the details and request for people to sign the petition you have listed. This is circulated throughout the company and will be seen by all relevant personnel. If there is anything further we can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Also ABC left a statement with Pinkpaper - 'At present Sara Ramirez is still a member of our cast and there are no immediate plans for that to change.'
